KÂHLD brings spiritual darkness and coldness into an auditory soundscape. Chasms and insanity of human spirit is reflected in the compositions to annihilate every ray of hope and end up in despair. Condition, circumstances and constellation of the world, mankind and our inner self are the breeding ground for the works of KÂHLD. Instead of dwelling in sorrow, KÂHLD exclaim their disgust against the essence of a selfish human behaviour.
Musically this manifests in a fierce combination of an ice-cold atmosphere and an intense rhythmic inferno, paired with a progressive approach. Quieter parts create room for more subtle but equally sinister elements and transfer intense and existential experiences into perishing and powerful compositions which deliberately refer to elements of the past while merging them with influences of our present everyday existence. It is a critical examination of social abysms and the human compulsion for self-destruction.
KÂHLD was formed by Jerndød and Rakshasa as a two-man studio project in 2010. In 2014 the EP ’A Perishing Escape in 2014‘ with Krotos on drums was self-released. In the early 2016 KÂHLD was signed to Talheim Records and on March 24th, 2017 they released their powerful debut-album “NO FERTILE GROUND FOR SEEDS” which was produced by no other than Christoph Brandes at Iguana Studios. The first live performances were in 2015 at the Darktroll Festival (Germany) and Zurich (Switzerland) among others. KÂHLD is now represented by Jerndød (b), Nár (g), Rakshasa (g/v) and Krotos (d).
